The Energy Art Studio was founded by Ross Drago in 1992 as a place where painters could have inexpensive painting studio space.
For Painters who live in th San Francisco East Bay

Membership includes a woodshop for making stretchers, a darkroom, on-line representation, free slides, easels, lights, wall space, critiques on art work, help getting techniques in painting, kitchen, work sink and a low to nontoxic atmosphere. The monthly membership fee is ranges from $110 to $155. per month. There is no advanced last month's rent, no key or security deposits. Utilities are included. The Studio is open from 8:00 AM. to 10:45 PM. every day. It is located at the Berkeley, Oakland and Emeryville Borders on Adeline Street.

Each room is divided by its shape into wall space for individual painters. Each painter gets a wall space and area appropriate for each room. Since few artists ever come at the same time, usually a painter has the entire room, floor or studio of two floors to relate to.
